OFFRE D’EMPLOI: The only film in Jean Eustache’s oeuvre to be commissioned is pointedly titled OFFRE D’EMPLOI (Job Offer) and describes the humiliating situation of a jobseeker confronted with an employer’s absurd selection criteria.
LES PHOTOS D’ALIX: A film about photography dominated by language – and one that demonstrates above all that ‘depending on what is said about it, an image does not remain the same image’ (Raymond Bellour). (hjf)
